New Times Shipbuilding, founded in 1971, is a large private Chinese shipyard that specializes in both designing and manufacturing vessels. The company was the first local shipyard in China to build a 100,000-tonne vessel in 1996 and later constructed large LNG dual-fuel powered ships. New Times Shipbuilding produces various types of oil tankers including 73,500-tonne, 112,500-tonne, 114,000-tonne, 111,000-tonne, and 158,000-tonne vessels. The company also builds VLCCs (Very Large Crude Carriers) with a capacity of 320,000 tonnes. Located in Jiangsu Jingjiang Danhua Harbor Port, the shipyard has been actively constructing oil tankers and other types of ships as evidenced by recent projects such as the completion of an LNG dual-fuel powered oil tanker on August 13, 2026.
