McLean’s Shipyard Ltd., established in 1909, is one of British Columbia’s longest family-run businesses, operating for over 111 years. Located on B.C.’s North Coast, the shipyard specializes in the repair of fishing, yacht, and service vessels, offering services such as haul-outs, boat painting, and Transport Canada (CSI) inspections. The original boatshed, built in 1927, still stands at the Seal Cove yard. In January 2020, the business was passed to the Davis family of West Coast Launch, who are modernizing and diversifying the facility to become a premier marine service centre and terminal facility on B.C.’s north coast. The shipyard is currently seeking partnerships to achieve its vision. McLean’s Shipyard Ltd. is based at 2309 Seal Cove Road, Prince Rupert, BC, and can be contacted via phone or email.
