Davit-Company GmbH & W. Harms KG is a specialist for Davit-systems and cargo handling systems on sea vessels and was founded in 1965 in Delmenhorst as an independent licensee of Davit-Company Utrecht. The firm has since then specialized in the delivery of several thousand systems for seafaring ships, mainly at German shipyards. Davit-systems, boat winches, rescue boat liferafts and cranes, gantry cranes, accumulator ladders and windlasses as well as related accessories are represented among the offered products. In 1980, Davit-Company delivered the largest Davit-system and windlasses on board the SS "NORWAY" and special wave-following winches for the MV "POLARSTERN" and some ships of the German government. Since 1994, Davit-Company has concentrated mainly on the service, repair, and shipment of replacement parts for all delivered systems.
