Astillero Ceiba del Mar is a Costa Rican company focused on constructing and operating zero emission cargo ships. The company's flagship vessel, Ceiba, is a 45-meter top-sail schooner currently being built at the shipyard on the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica. Another vessel, Vega, a traditional three-masted wooden schooner with a cargo capacity of 80 metric tonnes, is also part of their fleet and has already undergone refitting for sustainable shipping. Astillero Ceiba del Mar aims to build a second ship following the same design as Ceiba to meet growing demand for sustainable shipping. The company was founded as a crowdsourced start-up in Costa Rica and now operates with support from international investors who share its vision of clean energy solutions. As of February 26, 2024, Astillero Ceiba del Mar hosted a forestry event at their regenerative shipyard to promote sustainable practices
