Observatorio Costeiro de la Xunta de Galicia has been operating for more than 10 years, providing meteorological and oceanographic observations and predictions for the coast of Galicia. The observatory is part of the RAIA Geoportal Marnaraia, contributing to a coordinated marine environment management, preserving ecosystem services, and supporting sustainable development in blue economy sectors. Since 1990, they have installed 160 stations and conducted over 50,000 profiles for their coast, covering more than 15,000 km² of protected areas. The observatory collaborates with other institutions from both national and northern Portuguese regions within the RAIA network.
