Bifrost Tug

Bifrost Tug Estonia OÜ is a newly founded Norwegian company with a presence in Estonia. The firm has developed and designed an innovative, removable ice-breaking deck that can be attached to smaller tugboats. This reduces the emergency service pressure and thereby the fuel consumption rate compared to traditional icebreakers. The small design allows for better maneuverability, which is particularly advantageous for access to generators on offshore wind farms in winter. Bifrost Tug has already tested its first prototype in a Norwegian fjord and is working on a second prototype in thicker Baltic ice.
