Portonave is Brazil's first private container terminal, founded in 2007. Located in Navegantes, Santa Catarina, Portonave offers services including liner shipping and refrigerated cargo handling. The company has a capacity of 1.5 million TEUs annually and can handle up to 114 container movements per hour. Portonave invested approximately R$2 billion in infrastructure improvements to accommodate larger vessels. It operates the Iceport, a fully automated refrigerated storage facility with 16,000 pallet positions. In 2026, Portonave completed the installation of 14 new electric gantry cranes for its yard fleet.
