Cioos, known as the Canadian Integrated Ocean Observing System, is a national initiative that unites Canada’s oceanographic community to advance open, accessible, and interoperable ocean data. CIOOS provides a Data Catalogue and Data Explorer, tools that allow users to search, find, and download ocean data, as well as an interactive mapping tool for viewing and analysing ocean data. CIOOS engages locally, connects regionally, and coordinates nationally to elevate Canada’s ocean observing efforts to the international stage. The organization benefits both data providers and consumers across the ocean community, including academics, government agencies, ocean industries, coastal and Indigenous communities, and non-governmental organizations.
