Hjem is a maritime training program operated by Norges Rederiforbund in collaboration with Menon. The program runs for 19 years and includes five academic gatherings both domestically and internationally, providing trainees with a broad understanding of the maritime industry. Women now outnumber men among this year's participants for the first time. Hjem recruits new trainees annually, mostly in August/September, starting the recruitment process in June. Alumni such as Randi Johanne Sæther Bakken highlight the program’s unique opportunity to gain national and international insight into the maritime sector. An-Magritt Tinlund Ryste, who started as a trainee in 2009, is now on Lloyd's Register's prestigious list.
