Desan Tersanesi, part of the Kaptanoğlu-Gruppen-Konzern, was founded in 1970 and has developed into a dynamic and versatile shipbuilding and repair operation. The company offers services for the dry dock area as well as new building and conversion of both commercial and naval vessels. Desan possesses three fully equipped, steel-floated dockyards that can accommodate ships up to 234 meters in length and with a lifting capacity of 49,000 tons. The firm has distinguished itself through several significant conversion and new build projects such as the Crane Renovation Modernization Project for the MV Kavkaz, the restoration of Sørlandet, and the renovation of Burgos. Desan is the first Turkish shipbuilding operation to receive the Green Marine Europe certification. The company has locations in Istanbul and operates several centers for building and repair services.
