Savanah Shipowning Inc., also known as NS Savannah Association, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the NS Savannah, the world's first commercially nuclear-powered ship. The ship was commissioned under President Eisenhower's "Atoms for Peace" program in 1959 and served as a symbol for innovation during the Atomic Age. Although its services ceased in 1971, the NS Savannah has played an important role in maritime history. The organization works closely with the U.S. Maritime Administration to support ship condition and public education. Additionally, they organize regular tours and events aboard the ship.
