Crowley Conro LLC invests 550 million US-Dollars in the modernization of their shipping and logistics services between the U.S. inland and Puerto Rico. Central elements are two newly built combined container/Roll-On Roll-Off ships operated with liquefied natural gas (LNG). The company is also building new terminal facilities in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and improvements to the Jacksonville-JAXPORT facility, including an LNG bunker storage facility. With the Commitment Class project, Crowley aims for higher speed, efficiency, reliability, and more environmentally friendly operations. The firm was not explicitly endowed with a founding year but has been active for many years. With an investment of 130 million US-Dollars in San Juan, an 85-acre port terminal is constructed, which includes a new pier, container cranes, storage areas, and a terminal basin.
