Götaverken Cityvarvet AB, also known as Damen Shiprepair, was a ship repair yard that serviced, maintained, and refurbished vessels of all types. Founded in 1841 as Göteborgs Mekaniska verkstad, the company re-established in 1993 with 70 employees. Over its operations, it completed more than 1000 projects involving repairs, maintenance, and refits for various ships. In 2000, Damen Shipyards Group acquired the yard, which was located in Göteborg, one of Europe's largest ports. The facility comprised two docks, with the larger being 268 x 35 meters, and had four berths and modern workshops. The yard could be accessed directly from the Skagerrak/North Sea without any tides, locks, or other obstacles.
