Csic 725th Research Institute was founded in 1961 and is a military research institute under the China Shipbuilding Group Corporation (CSIC). The Institute focuses on research and development of materials and processes for ships, including hull-structure steel and processes, marine title lubricating materials and processes, corrosion protection technologies, non-metallic compact materials and processes, as well as vibration reduction technologies. It is involved in four 863 projects, four 973 projects, a technological support plan project, and five core demonstrations for technology projects. Additionally, the Institute conducts tests and inspections in various areas and has locations in Qingdao.
