Brent Tug Bv is a historic tugboat that has been enjoying the promenade in Maldon, Essex, as a valuable local landmark for over 50 years. It belongs to the "TID" class and was one of only three surviving tugs of this class in the United Kingdom out of 182 tugs built during the war for the Admiralty. Brent is also the last remaining tugboat of the London Harbour Authority and unique through its historical significance and use in maritime transport history. The company works on restoring the ship to bring it back into operation, and plans the construction of a new pontoon as well as the creation of a visitor-friendly centre. Support from friends and donors is crucial for the success of these projects. Brent Tug Bv was built in 1945 and stands under the protection of the National Register of Historic Places.
