Boots- und Schiffswerft Cuxhaven GmbH was founded in 1935 and is one of the oldest shipyard locations in Cuxhaven. The company offers services in the fields of wood, steel, engines, masts, electronics, and mechanics, and has its own crane with the capability to lift boats up to 16 tons. For larger ships, it has a slipway for vessels up to approximately 30 meters in length and a weight of up to approximately 200 tons. The yard is located water-side at the sluice gate, a historically significant waterway connecting the Elbe with the inner city. With 16 employees and a training program for boat and shipbuilders, the company is certified to ISO 9001 and a member of the Boat and Shipbuilding Association and the Handwerkskammer Braunschweig – Lüneburg – Stade.
