Porrima Foundation is a Swiss foundation that focuses on the use of renewable energies in maritime transportation. The company operates the MS Porrima, an experimental ship that is powered solely by solar, wind, and hydrogen energy. The name of the ship was changed from Porrima in 2010 by PlanetSolar, after the Roman goddess of future vision and protector of pregnant women. The ship has already achieved several Guinness World Records and is now returning to the sea to demonstrate that it is possible to sail without emissions. Additionally, the Porrima is expected to finance communication under water through light and the collection of DNA samples for a marine library. With the Skysails system and the direct production of hydrogen on the sea, the ship has continued to be modernized to improve its energy efficiency, further enhancing its capabilities.
