Karachi Port Trust (KPT) is a port development and management institute in Pakistan. It operates the Karachi Port and is involved in the handling of container and general cargo. KPT has achieved a significant milestone by surpassing its previous freight trading record of 54,685,000 tons, set in the financial year 2017-18, with a new record in the financial year 2025-26. This achievement was made possible through the support of the Ministry of Marine Affairs. KPT was also recognized for its operational performance by improving its ranking from 99th to 69th in the World Port Ranking in just one year. Additionally, KPT has been listed on Lloyd's War Risk Areas, eliminating additional insurance costs for ships calling at Pakistan. The port is part of the Karachi International Container Terminal (KICT) and the Karachi Gateway Terminal Limited (KGTL), serving as an entry gateway to the east.
