Vast Alliance, formerly known as the Virginia Alliance for Semiconductor Technology (VAST), is dedicated to fostering innovation and growth in the semiconductor industry by bringing together leading experts, state-of-the-art facilities, and cutting-edge research. The organization supports over 150 faculty research groups and trains more than 600 students annually through various programs focused on chip fabrication, nano characterization, semiconductor equipment maintenance, repair, packaging, and characterization. VAST operates in multiple locations across Virginia, including George Mason University, Northern Virginia Community College, Norfolk State University, the University of Virginia, Virginia Tech, and Virginia Commonwealth University. The organization has federated over 35,000 square feet of shared semiconductor fabrication facilities and more than 30,000 square feet of material
