Ghana Tuna Association (GTA) is a non-partisan, non-profit making fisheries sector organization in Ghana that focuses on operators of tuna. GTA promotes and sustains the tuna industry in Ghana through consultancy services and collaboration with outside tuna organizations. The association negotiates matters affecting tuna operations and crew on tuna vessels. Member companies include registered tuna vessels and bait boats. GTA supports sustainable fishing practices and is involved in promoting market opportunities, particularly in Europe and Asia. Founded in 2015, GTA operates in Tema, Ghana - West Africa. One concrete fact is that EU countries are the main importers of Ghana’s fresh and processed tuna products.
