Port of Tanjung Pelepas (PTP) is Malaysia's most advanced container terminal and is strategically located at the convergence of the most important east-west sea lanes, causing ship liners only a 45-minute layover. The terminal has 14 berths with a total length of 5.04 km and can handle up to 12.5 million TEUs annually. PTP also offers marine services such as pilotage, towing, and ship-to-ship services for all vessels within its water boundary. The Pelepas Freedom Zone covers 1,600 hectares of land and currently houses more than 40 companies that together employ over 11,000 workers and have invested RM2.8 billion.
