Kuching Port Authority was the first organized port in the state of Sarawak and was established in 1961. Situated just outside Kuching, it serves numerous shipping lines connecting to regional hub ports. The authority operates two terminals that are close to industrial estates, facilitating easy cargo movement and have access to highway and coastal routes to all main towns in Sarawak. In 2023, the port celebrated the "Hungry Ghosts" festival with the support of management, staff, and port users. Kuching Port Authority organized a blood donation campaign on May 31, 2023, where twelve staff members donated blood. The authority has grown to become a premier port in Sarawak.
