The organization was founded by the merger of fishermen and owners of fishing boats who believe that Brazil can serve as an international reference in extraterritorial and sustainable fishing. Currently, the members of Brasilia Pesca represent the majority of the formal and legalized fishing activities in Brazil. The organization maintains continuous contacts with executive and legislative authorities, as well as public and private institutions both domestically and internationally, to find sustainable solutions for fishing.
