Recycling activities primarily take place in India, Bangladesh, and Pakistan, with most ships being dismantled along the western coast of India at Alang, Chittagong, or Karachi/Gadani. In China, recycling activities occur in the Shanghai and Xinhui areas, where beaching-free methods are used.
